Pretty catchy name for a TV show or comic, no? Alas, this is simply the name I have given to my almighty laptop for surviving a drowning!
So a few days ago, my mum reaches across the table for some peach Ice-tea, knocks it, and spills it all over my laptop...which happens to be open. ZAP! The whole thing goes black and conks out, seemingly forever.(Stupidly, we tried to stick paper towel in it to mop up the tea...obviously didn't do a very good job as the keys are very sticky as I type this.)
A day or so after that, we get the idea to open the whole back and dry it with a hair dryer...so 50 screws later we do just that. Then we turn it on and...nothing. Putting the thing back together was a nightmare I don't want to repeat. :(
Today, just fiddling around with it, I managed to pull the DVD drive out and save my copy of the (most excellent) movie Zodiac. Then, just out of curiosity I start fiddling with a few latches...and manage to pull the battery out. It felt slightly sticky and smelled of peach...the flavour of the ice tea, if you remember. So, feeling rather silly, I blow on it, and in the inside of the laptop. After a few minutes, I put it back in and try to turn it on....AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! SCREAMS OF JOY! IT WORKS!!! OMFG!
Absolutely amazing. Just saved myself 600 dollars. And all my documents were still there...double facking sweet!

Well, all I can say is THANK BLOODY CHRIST, in a thick Australian accent. It's over! YAY!

It has been an interesting ride.

8.28pm on a Sunday night - I have spent the last few hours doing last minute homework (and shopping for clothes hehehe). I earlier bought a nice little black vest which will go snazzily with any outfit. :D Big smiles!

And to top this fantastic day off, my family and I cooked home-made pizza. I love mine absolutely chockers (full) with cheese, onion and capsicum! :D:D More big smiles!

But then again, I ain't that slack considering I've been finishing off BUTTLOADS of homework lately.

And I went to see a play yesterday! How delightful. It was called "A stretch of the imagination", and starred John Wood (You know, the old guy from Blue Heelers?). Let me say this: If you live in Melbourne, or it is possible to make your way to the Athaneum theatre on Collins street, GO AND SEE THIS PLAY. Do it, 'cause it's not advertised very well and it SHOULD be. Not that I'm helping that situation...heh...

Please, this absurd/surreal, one-man, aussie play is an absolute gem. Granted, I did have to view it for school, but nevertheless I thoroughly enjoyed it. :)

And I spent the rest of the day wondering if I would see wordboy in the city...how sad.

Currently I am re-writing an essay on Nietszsche's Beyond Good and Evil. And for some reason, NIN's Closer just came on the radio...*shudder*

The quarantine has been tough, definitely, but some good things have come of it, to be sure. :D
I recently composed a little piano piece (On my synthesizer/keyboard, mind you) and I completed it today. It's something that allows room for a little improvisation, and is quite flexible. For instance, it could be played as a quiet, sentimental piece, or a grand, sweeping, cinema-like score. :D I call it...erm...The Dreamer. Yeah. Sounds good!

If I can get round to it, I'll record myself playing it and post it somewhere on the internet. Ahh, but I must return to my 'omework, madame mouiselle`.

ACK! One more thing! In the time between this entry and the last, I have watched Monsieur Verdoux twice! Fucking 'ilarious. Just brilliant. What a shame it could not be recognised for it's dark, comedic genius when it was first released. Love it. Limelight will be next on my list of Chaplin films :D.

Yes, well...

Obviously I kinda missed day two. But I'm baaack! And with a whole new report - almost 40 cases of Swine flu in Victoria! Yaaay! I practically can't go anywhere anymore, so I'm stuck here blogging, twittering and doing Theatre Studies homework. Who wants to do it for me? Any takers? :D No? ok. :(

I watched the Breakfast Club yesterday - "Does Barry Manilow know you raid his wardrobe?" - and really enjoyed it (I know, shock horror, I've never seen it before). My sister had to watch it for an assignment, ahahaha. And then after that (as I was still fully bored) I watched SLUMDOG MILLIONARE! WOO! I'm not gonna say much on that, but I will say this: JAI HO!!!

Erm...yeah...

So I'm here answering audit questions and patiently awaiting the mailman to come with the latest Quickflix DVD from my queue. :D It should be Monsieur Verdoux! OMG that rhymed. Oh so you don't know what that is? Ah, you know...another film that America hated Charlie Chaplin for. I've seen previews and it looks HILARIOUS. Screw America.

QUARANTINE DIARIES - DAY ONE

Dear Q.D,

Well, day one of quarantine, 11:21 am, and I'm still weighing up the pros and cons of homework. I should be doing some right now, but I really can't be bothered. Not surprisingly, I'm thinking up awesomely funny ideas for swine-flu related videos...if only I had some discs for my video camera (I have a digital vid-cam, which I despise.) If only they still made them with the tapes! Look I'm sure they do, I just haven't been able to find any. Life sucks.

On my knees, help me baby, tell me what can I do? SWINE-LECTRIC FLU.
Oh the parodies are endless! The amount of times I have herd "I kissed a pig"...sigh.

Sprechen sie deutsch? Gut. Ich musste machen mein hausaufgaben. Ein "Vocab-list", und ich vergass meine dictionary! GUT GOTT!!! Eh, it'll only take me a while, so I might as well do it. CHEEZEN KRACKERS!

Considering watching a DVD today. Any ideas? I've got many that I haven't watched, so it's so hard to decide! i.e: Catch me if you can, Burn after reading, Citizen Kane...All good films, I hear, but SO different!

Hah, I'm so bored I even got out my old "Cobalt blue" GameBoy advanced SP! It had dust all over it, LAUGH OUT LOUD! (Not that loud, please.) It had a massive-sized Zelda game in it, which I think was originally made for the gameboy colour...which is also floating around my house somewhere, methinks. (It might have Pokemon Yellow in it, holy cow!) But anyway, I started playing this game (with much confusion as I appeared to be up to level 5 with no idea where to progress to...) and found myself resorting to a walkthrough. Le gasp! Nevertheless, it got boring so I threw it down anyway (slicing cave bats and collecting jewels does get rather tedious...).

Ew...I just coughed up phlegm. It's normal flu, I swear! Don't freak out on me, I've been to the doctors twice already.

Currently I am panicking because I only have certain school folders at home...the rest are at school, which is fully locked up. :( If I'm gonna be quarantined for so long, I WANT MY FREAKIN' SCHOOL WORK! My god, this is one time where I actually want to STUDY MY ASS OFF. Sigh.

Hey there bloggers,

Ah yeah, it's one of those days. :(
This feeling has been building up inside me lately, that maybe I'm too shy in person, and not shy enough on the net.
It has dawned on me my Netiquette may not be so great...

Ever felt like bagging someone because you can't do it in the open and think doing it on the net will gain your support? Yeah, me too. And I've done it.
My god, I've been flaming this whole time and lost a lot of respect (or so I think).
People, I think, don't trust me, because I seem like two people. :(

Hypothetically, I meet this guy who thinks I'm very sweet, innocent and naive (because I'm a little scared of new people) BUT on the net I freely bag pics and comments of him, thinking he'll understand it's a joke. BUT it suddenly dawns on me he might not respect me anymore because I have not been truthful to him, let alone myself. Perhaps now he only thinks of me as an Acquaintance.

To be absolutely 100% truthful, I was bullied.
Now, don't think of a fat boy pushing me around for lunch money, no; this was much worse. I was very good friends with a girl who one day decided to exclude from everything, write rude things about me on the internet and tell everyone in the school that I was a lesbian, with extreme negative connotations (I'm not, just to clear things up). As a result I find it hard to trust people and make new relationships, and as a result of THAT I have a lot of pent-up anger that spills forth on the net.
Before the several bullying incidents, I was very loud and outspoken (which I still am, around close friends and family) but got into trouble with my mouth...the same thing is now happening on the internet.

BUT I aim to correct this! I want people to see that: yes, I'm eccentric and opinionated, but deep down I'm a nice, generous person who aims to please the ones she trusts! If only people would listen.
Which is why I have a blog! Whilst I'm aware not many people read ME, it feels excellent to spill my guts like this...It's the first step to eliminating this problem I have. Plus listening to Raspberry Beret helps, lol! (Sorry, it just came on the radio, hehe...) "She walked in through the out door -out door- she wore a Raspberry Beret, the kind you'd find in a second hand store.."

Sorry, got a bit distracted! Despite this shit being flung my way I have still managed to keep my charming insanity. :P
If anyone happens to read this and thinks I have a horrible case of multiple personalities, I'm so sorry. I publicly apologise right here, in front of the whole interwebs!

I have also made a New Year's Resolution/Vow: I shall never insult another again, in their presence or not. I will be constant in the way I treat people, and I will show my true colours! Plus I will hold my opinion back if it's not the right time, and later write it in my diary (not here).

To the (ah-hem) 'Hypothetical' guy; I know I seem like a foolish, immature and nasty child sometimes, but what I've come to realise is that I really like you, and I hope we can be good friends. :)

I also promise not to use the word "Hate" anymore. I will be content with my life, I will not want excess or instant gratification, and I will feel nothing towards those I previously "hated".
Life is Good. Life is Great. What's stopping me from being happy, when I have all I need?

Holy God, this song is eargasmic (Really fackin sweet, in other words). I don't know what it is, but I can't stop listening to it. This will be the tenth time today. SO I guess I should introduce myself a little more. I like blogging about ME, that is, the things I am interested in, the things I love, the things I hate, plus a little randomness. Okay, LOTS of randomness.

FACTS:
-I'm not bossy, I just have a lot of OPINIONS.
-You won't like me when I'm hungry.
-Star Wars used to be my favourite film until I discovered Fight Club. It was like a secret society waiting to be uncovered, and watching it made me feel like I was keeping a fantastic secret. It was just too good to resist...I'm so much more interested now in films that leave you with a million questions rather than straightforward fantasies...
-I talk too much (Thankyou, Captain Obvious!!!)
-My favourite colour is purpley-pinky-green-yellow-bluish. (I'm just waiting for it to exist, even though I'm afraid that once it does my head will implode.)
-I HATE working in retail, but it means money in the bank so...bluuugh
-My ambition is to become an actress. I love acting, especially theatre and improv. I'm still getting used to acting on camera. :P
-My favourite actor (And sort of role model, I guess) is Edward Norton. Yay for cake!
-I completed year 12 Media in year 11, and if I get anything less than and A I am going to SCREAM!
